Carolina Valentim, portuguese from Lisbon, currently  lives in São Paulo, Brazil.
Her photographic look begins to take form as a teenager, at the Arts School. She graduated in Communication in 2014, and the following year she moved to São Paulo, where Photography has allowed her to discover her new home.
Through image she begins a journey of discovery of her new surroundings; consequently,  her photographs are the result of a constant search for identification and mingling with Brazilian reality, becoming more familiar with the country’s culture.
With her Fujifilm camera over her shoulder, she has given a new meaning to her new home, creating  emotional ties with the people she portrays. This has helped her bond with the country.
Carolina worked as an assistant of the artist Emmanuel Nassar and her Brazilian street photos were exhibited in Portugal. One of these photos, an image of children in Bahia, was included in the annual selection of the best shots taken by women photographers of the newspaper El País in 2018. Her most recent photo spree was to Cuba, in March 2020.
